A visit to my grandmother’s ancestral home

Jas, Iran and I took some time out of the wedding to visit Raji, Kiran and Baksho aunty at Paalla village. They are my grandmother’s, brothers’, daughter-in-law, grandchildren (and great-grandchildren in the case of Kiran).

Raji is in India at the same time as us and insisted that we visit him because we may not get a similar opportunity again. I’ve never been to this village and because we are quite close (to the Thandi's) I was really interested in seeing the village that my grandmother grew up in. Although, exploring their gorgeous home I doubt as if she will recognise anything in the surrounding area of their original home.

It’s an intimate little village that I would have loved to have explored further but we did not really have time. The family made us feel really welcome and it was good sitting down and having a good natter about our respective journeys from England to India. This is a short blog entry because we’ve got to head back to the wedding home for this evening’s festivities. Here are some pictures of our visit.
