Here are a few images of the morning and evening sessions of the pre-wedding festivities. I cannot write much because we are about to head off for the wedding.

Tarsem and Sarbjit take an opportunity to have a picture taken on the balcony overlooking our village.

Leaving Home

Arriving at the wedding house

Decorations in the wedding home
In the morning there is the culmination of a three day reading of the Guru Granth Sahib.

Religious ceremony

Getting into the flow
After the religious event, the party begins.

Family picture, evening party

Decorations of the wedding house
Jago is a traditional dance in the late evening used to wake the neighbours and make them aware that there is a wedding in the morning. (Though I think the noise, cars and decorations at the wedding house would have given the game away!)

Traditional Jago Dancers

Girls try their hand at Jago (or is it their heads?)

It's traditional to wake the neighbours. This was 2.00am local time at one of the neighbours houses!
More later.
